Basement digging

First thing that we needed to do was dig the basement. We already have electricity that is hooked up on the yard but will have to hook it up to the house when it's built. The basement digging was done by a local back hoe operator and he did a great job. He finished it in a few house. This picture shows me walking in the hole once it was dug.

House Building 101

Welcome to our house building blog. I'm going to try and update this as we go through the various stages in our house building process. Hopefully this site will be of interest to those who are wondering how we are doing on this project and also for people who may want to self-build a house some day themselves. We are hoping and praying that things work out and we can have a new house built by the time our baby comes.
